Affiliate membership is open to anyone with an interest in the resources and waste sector. There are no qualification or experience requirements

To become an Affiliate Members, simply complete the online application and choose your payment option.

Your application will then be approved and you can start enjoying your membership.

The 2026 subscription fee is £146, which is pro rated for those joining mid-year.

Spread the cost of your membership when you pay by Direct Debit:

  • £36.50 (quarterly Direct Debit)
  • £12.16 (monthly Direct Debit)

Affiliate membership is often the first step in a longer professional journey. As your experience grows, you can progress to one of our professional grades, including Associate, Technical, Chartered, or Fellow. 

You can upgrade at any time once you meet the relevant criteria.

We recently launched a new website as part of our ongoing commitment to providing CIWM members and the wider sector with an improved digital experience. We are currently unable to accept membership upgrade applications online and are continuing to develop additional online functionality, including the ability for existing members to submit upgrade applications digitally.
