Why accreditation matters

CIWM is committed to supporting the professional development of our members and the wider sector. To achieve this, we offer a range of solutions, including professional membership, qualifications, training, and events, delivered directly by CIWM or through our partners. We also accredit and endorse third-party programmes that align with our competency framework, developed with leading industry experts to identify the core and specialist skills required at every career stage.

CIWM Accreditation and Endorsement represent official recognition from the professional body for the sector, and deliver real benefits for your organisation: enhancing in-house development activities, helping your training, qualifications, and events stand out from the competition, and supporting the green skills employers need now and in the future.

CIWM Accreditation

Our accreditation is designed for short courses and training programmes, career development frameworks and qualifications. They can be delivered by any relevant organisation, in any format, for an external audience or in-house.

What you receive:

• Validation report against the CIWM competency framework
• Eligibility to contribute to CIWM members' annual CPD requirements
• Review by a quality assurer and/or industry professional
• Use of the CIWM Accreditation logo
• Accreditation for three years
• CIWM certificate of achievement (optional)
• Inclusion in the CIWM Accreditation directory

How to become Accredited

To be considered for Accreditation, simply complete an Expression of Interest form and return it to accreditation@ciwm.co.uk. 

CIWM Endorsement

Our endorsement is most suitable for events, webinars, presentations and small environmental activities or schemes.

What you receive:

• Validation check against the CIWM competency framework
• Eligibility to contribute to CIWM members' annual CPD requirements
• Review by a quality assurer
• Use of the CIWM Endorsement logo
• Endorsement for 12 months
