WasteSmart Courses
There are two WasteSmart courses to choose from, as well as an upgrade model for those who have already completed WasteSmart and want to learn more.
WasteSmart
Designed for hands-on people who make frontline, minute-by-minute decisions that affect cost, wastage or compliance.
WasteSmart is a 5-hour course, which covers:
- Waste as a resource
- The environmental impact of waste
- The costs of managing waste
- Understanding and applying the Waste Hierarchy
- Legislation and ensuring compliance
WasteSmart Plus
For people who manage or implement change by setting the direction, procedures and culture for sustainable resource use in their organisation.
WasteSmart Plus is a one-day course that covers the above WasteSmart modules plus the following additional modules:
- How to identify opportunities to reduce waste in the workplace
- Managing resources and waste in the workplace
- How to demonstrate improvements
Upgrade to WasteSmart Plus
The upgrade pathway lets you progress to WasteSmart Plus without repeating the full course. Rather than covering the core WasteSmart modules in their entirety, the upgrade includes a condensed refresher of those modules alongside an update on any changes in legislation, before moving on to the three additional WasteSmart Plus modules. It is a shorter route to the WasteSmart Plus qualification, designed for those whose foundational knowledge is already in place.
