What does the Forum do?
The Policy & Innovation Forum is the main policy advisory group within CIWM, advising the Trustee Board on policy and innovation for the resources and waste sector.
The Forum’s three-year plan sets out the key policy and innovation priorities for CIWM, along with the underpinning knowledge requirements, and proposes forward-thinking research and evidence. The Forum is also a champion for CIWM and the work that the industry and its members undertake.
The Forum will:
- Develop a three-year Policy & Innovation Plan that sets out the key policy and technical priorities for CIWM,
- Develop budgeted proposals for supporting research and evidence,
- Support CIWM’s Five-Year Strategy and help guide work under a number of strategic pillars,
- Oversee the establishment of Strategic Expert Groups (SEGs) to reflect the priorities in the plan,
- Oversee the selection of appropriate chairs to lead these SEGs, and
- Steer/monitor the outcomes of the work undertaken by the SEGs, which will report into the Policy & Innovation Forum.
