Environmental Permitting Operators Certificate (EPOC)
Build the technical expertise you need to manage waste sites and meet environmental permitting requirements.
This comprehensive two-day programme provides the practical knowledge and skills required to operate as a technically competent person under the CIWM (WAMITAB) Operator Competence Scheme. Through a mix of expert-led presentations, discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, you’ll develop a clear, working understanding of environmental permitting and site management responsibilities.
You’ll also complete a short multiple-choice assessment to demonstrate your knowledge. Successful completion enables you to use your EPOC certification as evidence of technical competence for low-risk sites, or to secure a 12-month grace period for new permit applications while you complete your full qualification (excluding landfill).

Duration: Two days
Entry requirements: None. However, you will need to be employed in a suitable position or be familiar with the working environment.
