CIWM Cymru Wales Site Visit to
S Norton Metal Processing Site, Liverpool
S. Norton & Co Ltd is at the forefront of British metal recycling. Since its inception in the early 1960’s, the company has undergone continual growth winning the Queen’s award for export in 2004 and 2009.
Together with their subsidiary company Axion Recycling Ltd, they can recycle and recover in excess of 95% of all materials processed via mechanical processes (e.g. shredding) and our commitment to the environment is embodied with our aim of sending zero waste to landfill. The core business is the recycling of both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from sources such as end-of-life vehicles, car manufacturers, construction and demolition companies, metal merchants and civic amenity sites. The scrap metal is then recycled to internationally recognised standards ready for export. The company also process WEEE.
At the Liverpool site in 2018, 330,000 tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous material were processed. Of this material, only approximately 200 tonnes went to landfill; the rest sent for export at our dock facilities or for further reprocessing. There company employs over 230 employees, of which 138 are based at the Liverpool site.

Delegates who do not show up on the day will be charged the full rate at the time of booking.
It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of CIWM Cymru Wales to change the content and timing of the event. In the unlikely event of us having to cancel the event, CIWM Cymru Wales will make a full refund of the tickets but disclaim any further liability.
