CIWM Scotland Business Waste Group
Aim
To establish a group of key stakeholders and interested parties within the Scottish business community who have an interest in waste and resource efficiency. The group will act as a knowledge exchange and a forum for dialogue to further our understanding of the management of business waste in Scotland. To gain a better understanding of the Scottish regulatory and market requirements and provide a useful insight into managing this waste stream across Scotland leading to greater consistencies in practice and regulation.
Objective
The objectives of the group are to:
1. Provide a single group in Scotland that will represent the interests across the whole spectrum of business waste including its: measurement, production, transportation, treatment and disposal
2. Share information and support knowledge exchange across all aspects of business waste
3. Provide a mechanism for other interested parties to engage with the group to share ideas and gain an understanding of the key issues and also to help create linkages across the sectors
4. Be a valuable source of information to government and key policy makers to help inform and shape future policy by feeding into Government policy, strategy and regulation debates
Membership
Membership will be open to all those involved, or with an interest, in business waste. In order to make the group a valuable source of information it is important to have a good representation of individuals from across the business waste sector.
