CIWM has recently announced the successful applicants that have been accepted as Fellows of the Institution, among which is the youngest ever.
Being awarded a Fellowship of CIWM demonstrates that you are a leading professional in the sector and serves as a formal acknowledgement of your considerable achievements in the field of resources and waste management.
Similar to Chartered Resource and Waste Managers, Fellows are peer-assessed to ensure they meet the required criteria and can make the necessary commitment required for Fellowship.
Applicants must demonstrate their distinguished accomplishments in the sector and commit to upholding the highest levels of professionalism.
Sarah Poulter, CEO of CIWM said: “I am delighted to welcome all of our successful applicants into the small, but prestigious group of CIWM Fellows. Congratulations to you all.
“They join a total of just 115 of our members, and although their number is small, collectively, our CIWM Fellows have a big impact on the resources sector.”
Among this round’s successful applicants, CIWM awarded Fellowship to Harriet Parke (pictured left), who now has the title of CIWM’s youngest ever Fellow.
“I’m thrilled to have become a Fellow of CIWM,” Harriet said. “It just goes to show you don’t need to fit a particular age demographic, and that the award is truly a recognition of considerable achievements and commitment to supporting the work of CIWM.
“I’m really excited about the expanded opportunities this will bring as I continue my career in the resources sector. I’d encourage anyone thinking of applying, for any grade, to take the plunge and go for it.
“Members across the Institution are willing to provide support, and I’m keen to also offer advice and support to others on their journeys in the wastes and resources sector.”
CIWM has seen a recent surge in Fellow applications, and as a result has awarded 21 new Fellows this year – compared to 8 the previous year. This is a massive 20% increase.
