Special interest groups
CIWM’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are the engine room for the body of knowledge that deals with the activities covered within the sustainable waste and resources management sector. The work of the SIGs is invaluable and CIWM wants more members to become involved in the work of these groups.
In order for these groups to function efficiently the Institution needs the groups to comprise of enthusiastic people working in the waste and resource sector. There are two levels of group, the wider special interest group that all CIWM members have listed in their community tab under your account profile. The other level is the steering group, of which the numbers are controlled as these groups have face to face meetings.
Above all you should be able to contribute to the promotion of the waste and resources agenda through the specific activities of the SIGs. These groups provide the authoritative technical resource that is the basis for some excellent publications, best practice documents, guidance documents and consultation responses on behalf of CIWM.
If you are a member or have a CIWM account through the website, log into your account and under Your Account click the communities tab. This takes you to the wider special interest group list where you can select and follow any of the special interest groups listed. You must follow the wider special interest group to receive updates and followers are welcome to participate in discussions, announcements, blogs and wikis.
If you are interested in joining one of the steering groups please email firstname.lastname@example.org
