Course Details


This induction programme delivers a blend of virtual and eLearning courses across an 8-month period with a total of approx. 19 hours (2.5-3 days) of learning. The programme is specifically tailored for individuals new to the Resource and Waste Management sector seeking a solid foundation of key sector topics and how to implement good waste management practices into their role.

    September 2025- Micros eLearning

    1-2 hours of eLearning required. To be completed after the ‘Introduction’ live session and to be completed before the next live session

  • October- Introduction to Waste & Resource Management – Claire Poole

    8th October 2025– 09:30 – 12:30 – ‘Introduction to Waste & Resource Management’ – Virtual Learning


    November- Behaviour Change– Helen White

    12th November 2025– 09:30 – 12:30 – ‘Behaviour Change’ – Virtual learning


    December– Duty of Care: Awareness – Claire Poole

    10th December 2025– 10:00 – 12:00 – ‘Duty of Care’- Virtual Training

    December- Waste Collection

    30 mins eLearning required. To be completed after the ‘Duty of Care: Awareness’ virtual course and to be completed before the next live session


    January – Introduction to the Classification of Wastes – Jane Hall

    20th January 2026– 10:00-11:30 – ‘Introduction to the Classification of Wastes’- Virtual Course


    February- Waste Legislations Essentials

    3 hours eLearning required. To be completed after the ‘Introduction to the Classification of Wastes’ virtual course and to be completed before the next live session


    March – The Horrors of Waste Crimes

    3rd March 2026– 10:00 – 12:00 – ‘The Horrors of Waste Crimes’- Virtual Course


    April – Environmental Permitting Exemptions

    2 hours eLearning required. To be completed after the ‘Horror of Waste Crimes’ Virtual course


    All modules need to be completed to finish the sector programme
