This event will feature a number of speakers covering alternative approaches to waste collections including:
- Environmental Services - An Alternative Perspective? A review of alternative approaches to environmental and municipal services as practiced in Germany and Europe. Could we improve our services through sharing best practice? How does a fresh pair of eyes view the UK market and will cooperation at a European level improve or decline in a post-Brexit UK?
- Connexin - a smarter way to deliver waste collection services. Connexin are transitioning organisations to smart waste collection leading to a cleaner, more sustainable waste collection service - reducing costs and supporting a sustainable planet
- Underground Refuse Systems – what is it? Benefits of URS over traditional waste collection. Latest innovations – contactless access control / fill level technology
- A joint project between Sunderland City Council and the local VCS to develop a bespoke website enabling people in need in Sunderland to obtain reused and reconditioned goods collected by a couple of community organisations collecting household waste diverted from bulky household waste collections, donations and where they have given access to our HWRC ( with the site operator /contractors cooperation) to salvage goods for re use.
