Directions and Parking:
The hotel has onsite parking for up to 60 cars, on a first come first served basis.  The car park is secure and chargeable as follows:  0-4 hrs = £5.00, 4-9 hrs = £8.00, 9-24 hrs = £12.00.

10:00 – 10:30    In search of HWRC perfection - Can we ever please our adoring public?
Tom Turner, Waste Disposal Contracts Manager, South Tyneside Council
In a light-hearted, yet true reflection, Tom will look at the three incarnations of tip, Civic Amenity Site and HWRC operated in South Tyneside from 1978. His presentation will question, given all of the convenience we now offer, backed up by every conceivable means of communication, why our adoring public still fail miserably to follow simple requests to separate materials

10:30 – 11:00    Introduction to CI – What is Continuous Improvement
Martin Gray, CI Practitioner & Lean Manager
Martin will cover some of the key developments in Continuous Improvement, going as far back as the Great Exhibition of 1851 right up to its use this summer by the England ODI Cricket Team.
He will look at a CI Infinity loop and how we can use that to manage our activities and improve performance. Lastly he will explore why change feels as uncomfortable as it does, and more importantly, why that is a good thing!

11:00 – 11:30    Foil for Snappy #RubbishIntoCash
Dr Karen Nash – Founder, Foil for Snappy 
Karen was named as the winner of the Best Community Recycling Initiative as part of the Letsrecycle.com 2019 Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management and will give us an overview of how Foil for Snappy diverts waste foil from landfill and raises money to  support local charities https://www.thesnappytrust.org/foilforsnappy-
