CIWM celebrates Trustees Week

This week, CIWM joins charities and professional membership
organisations across the UK in celebrating Trustees Week, shining a spotlight
on the strategic role its volunteer Trustee Board plays in driving progress
towards achieving CIWM’s purpose to move the world beyond waste.
The Trustee Board is responsible for setting the strategic
direction of CIWM and ensuring effective governance. Their expertise is crucial
for navigating the complexities of the resources and waste sector and for
championing the industry's professionalisation.
As part of its commitment to strong succession planning and
its EDI Strategy, CIWM is using Trustees Week to engage its membership with
future leadership opportunities.
The recruitment drive for new Trustee positions will begin in
early 2026, aiming to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the Board. In
addition, recruitment for the Junior Vice President for the 2026/27 term, which
leads directly to the CIWM Presidency in 2028, will be launched shortly.
Existing members and Fellows who are interested in
influencing CIWM’s strategy and leading the sector are encouraged to monitor
the CIWM website for full role descriptions and application details in the
coming weeks.
