Membership referral terms and conditions
- To be eligible, a current Chartered Institution of Wastes Management ("CIWM") member (referred to below as a "Nominator") must refer a fellow professional/industry colleague (referred to below as a "Candidate"), for CIWM membership.
- To be eligible to nominate a Candidate, the Nominator must be an Affiliate, Associate, Technical, Chartered, Fellow, or Retired member of CIWM.
- This offer does not apply to Candidates upgrading existing memberships. The Candidate cannot have held any grade of membership with CIWM previously.
- There is no limit on the number of referrals a Nominator may make. A total discount of 10% will be applied to the Nominator's 2026 membership fee when they successfully refer one or more Candidates before 30 November 2025. This discount is fixed and does not increase based on the number of Candidates successfully referred.
- For a referral to be successful, the Candidate must complete the referral field on their application form and provide the name and email address of their Nominator when prompted. Payment for the Candidates membership must be received by 30 November 2025.
- CIWM accepts no responsibility for lost or incomplete applications.
- The Nominator will receive a 10% discount on their 2026 membership renewal when a Candidate successfully applies for, and completes payment for, Affiliate, Associate, Technical, Chartered or Fellow membership with CIWM before 30 November 2025.
- The 10% discount applies to the Nominator's 2026 annual membership renewal fee only, and will not apply to future annual membership fees unless otherwise stated.
- This offer cannot be transferred to another individual or exchanged for any other CIWM product or cash.
- The Candidate must provide the full name and email address of their Nominator on their application to enable us to process the referral. Without this information, the referral benefit cannot be applied.
- By providing the Nominator's details, the Candidate confirms that they have sought the permission of the Nominator for their details to be included within the application.
- CIWM withholds the right to reject any application which it feels does not comply with these terms and conditions and/or where the Candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria for membership.
- This referral scheme is valid for applications submitted between 30 September 2025 and 30 November 2025.
- Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer, including subsidised or discounted membership.
- CIWM reserves the right to amend, withdraw or extend the scheme at any time.
- CIWM takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information in accordance with data protection laws.
