Course Details


Waste and resource management plays a crucial role in reaching the UK’s net-zero goals. Increasingly waste professional’s need to understand the concept of net zero and how it relates to waste management policies, practices and performance.
This course provides an overview of the background to Net Zero, explains what Net Zero and Carbon Offsetting mean as well as identifying the challenges of delivering Net Zero. It goes on to look at the contents of a Carbon Reduction Plan, a requirement for public sector contracts, from a waste perspective. It also offers an insight into the use of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) in the industry.
This virtual course has been designed to help those managing and delivering waste services for the public or private sector to gain a basic understand of Net Zero.
