The Northern Ireland Centre is run by members on a voluntary basis. The centre organises an annual waste management conference along with a programme of technical meetings, site visits, symposia and social events. It provides a forum for professional debate and the opportunity for members to meet and socialise through a strong network of professionals.  Members automatically become affiliated to the Northern Ireland Centre when they join CIWM.

The CIWM Northern Ireland Centre comprises over 150 waste professionals representing all waste management activities across the country.  CIWM Northern Ireland members work in local and national government, agencies, private waste companies, consultancies, social enterprises as well as education and research centres.
