INTRODUCTION

With all the talk about household recycling rates, recycling coffee cups, single use plastics and material quality, just to name a few current topical areas in the waste industry; it is often easy to forget just how diverse and far reaching our sector truly is. So, come and join the West of England NMN (formally the North Wessex NMN) for a unique opportunity to see aircraft disassembly, re-use and recycling at Air Salvage International (ASI).

ASI is the global industry leader and was the first aircraft disassembly company to be established in Europe. It has carried out over 700 projects worldwide over the last 20 years. The facilities at Cotswold Airport have 170,000 sq. ft of hangar space, parking for up to 20 wide jets such as A340's and Boeing 747's in addition up to 50 narrow bodied aircraft.

Annually ASI dismantles between 50 and 60 airliners at Cotswold Airport, which is approx. 14% of the world's aircraft retirement. Affiliate aviation companies GCAM (EASA Part 145 line maintenance) and Skyline Aero (component supply) also operate at the same facility.
