10.15 am Modern Day Slavery
                                
Andy Leonard, Modern Slavery Regional Coordinator, Regional Organised Crime Unit, Yorkshire and Humber

70% of victims of modern slavery have been associated with the waste industry. Andy will give an overview of ongoing measures to tackle this crime and highlight indicators we can be aware of to help reduce the effects of this hidden crime. 

10.50 am    ‘Question Time’

Dr. Adam Read, External Affairs Director, SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK

An opportunity to discuss the future of the waste and resource sector: possible policy themes; new rules, taxes and initiatives – e.g. EPR, DRS, retailer campaigns; future skills; role of the private sector; role of CIWM.  A chance for members to pose questions and share opinions and ideas. 

11.30 am Close and Pre-luncheon drinks
