This training programme consists of 4 Modules. All tutor-led modules will take place live online.

Module 1: 17th November 2026; 14:00 – 16:00 via Zoom

• The role of contract management and contract managers
• The procurement process and the most relevant documents for a contract manager, which form part of the contract, and how they link together
• The transitional arrangements before the start of the contract
• The role of the Contract Management Team (CMT) in the governance of a contract

Module 2: 20th November 2026; 14:00 – 16:00 via Zoom

• The various documents that make up a waste management Contract how they are linked together and by what means they set out how a contract should be managed
• In what way do Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) help us to measure how well a Service Provider is performing compared to their strategic goals and objectives
• Other ways a manager can track and monitor the performance of the Service Provider such as payment and performance mechanisms, as well as inspections, reporting and monitoring systems

Module 3: 24th November 2026; 14:00 – 16:00 via Zoom

• Understanding of risk and the importance of developing a risk register to manage the risk of financial and operational failure.
• Management of commercial risks
• How a Pain and Gain sharing agreement allows a contractor and supplier to share profits or cost savings and share losses due to errors or cost increases.
• Why Variations to the service requirement will be made and how

Module 4: 27th November 2026; 14:00 – 16:00 via Zoom

• It is important to have well-developed methodologies and processes in place to facilitate this
• Outline the purpose and content of a communications plan contract meetings, contract closure, and renewal procedures
• In addition, it will summarize the key information required to produce a contract management plan (CMP) which will explain how the contract will be managed. Self-learning
