Defra and CIWM have been working together to develop a programme of courses focusing on Waste Treatment Technologies.  These courses have been developed by experts in the field, and have involved extensive consultation with both academics and practitioners. 

This programme will help promote the technological and cultural transition required to ensure that the UK has an adequate knowledge and skills base that will deliver the sustainable management of wastes through these means. 

IWM Business Services now has dates available for the delivery of both VRQ Level 3 and HLA Level 4 five day training courses. In recognition that delegates have different demands on their time we will be offering the courses in two formats:

• 5 day block - Course will run from Monday to Friday of the same week.
• 1 day a week - Course will run on the same day, one day a week, for five consecutive weeks.

The following courses are scheduled for 2008:

The Level 3 course focuses on the Principles and Practices of Sustainable Wastes Management.  It is aimed at process engineers and technicians, together with other professionals, who are looking to transfer into the waste industry.
