Objectives

• To encourage the highest standards in waste management
• To provide a platform for those with a professional interest in waste regulation
• Formulate a programme of meetings to attract maximum participation
• Prepare responses to appropriate consultation papers
• Establish and participate in Working Groups and research
• Ensure papers and advice on regulatory issues are prepared
• Encourage active participation by regulators, operators and others
• Members have the opportunity to participate in meetings & workshops on topical issues.

Steering Committee Members

The work of the Special Interest Group is coordinated by a steering committee that reports to the CIWM Scientific & Technical Committee.

Membership

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in waste regulatory and waste control functions, particularly students and those with "grass roots" practical experience. CIWM Membership is not a pre-requisite, although we hope that this will be a natural progression for those interested in keeping up-to-date with waste management information and progressing their career.
