The CIWM Wessex New Generation Group are hosting an event on Wednesday 20th May 2008 which will provide an introduction to the concept dealing with construction site waste. Site Waste Management Plans will be covered and the work of Constructing Excellence.
The meeting will also involve a site visit to the Aggregate Washing Plant operated by Commercial Recycling Ltd. The plant is part funded by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and has been designed to produce in excess of 265,000 tonnes of secondary and recycled aggregates over the next 5 years. The tour will also include the waste picking plant for recyclables from commercial and industrial waste streams, including construction and demolition.
The cost of the event is £10 for CIWM members and £30 for non-members. Students can attend free of charge. This includes coffees, lunch and event papers.
The meeting will be held at the Canford Magna Golf Club, Magna Road, Wimborne starting at 12.30pm with lunch and finishing at approximately 4pm.
