Member Webinars

As part of our efforts to support the resources and waste sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, all CIWM webinars are currently open to both members and non-members.

We were all caught off guard last year by the COVID-19 pandemic. It started with a 2-week lockdown but things quickly spiralled out of control and businesses were left to fend for themselves, having to comply with a series of restrictions that had never been an issue before. Social distancing and remote working, for example, became top-of-mind for many business-owners. The recycling industry was no exception, but some businesses were better equipped than others to deal with the consequences.

In this upcoming AMCS Group webinar, facilitated by CIWM, we will analyse the different challenges we’ve faced over the past 12 months and share how we can prevent being caught off guard again.

Join our presenter, Gerard Kissane, as he highlights the importance of adaptability in times of uncertainty. During the session, we will cover the main repercussions of the rolling lockdowns and restrictions on the sector and reveal some of the key areas that businesses should focus on in order to prosper in difficult times. We will explore the new practices that have come to stay, too, like the movement to digital payments, the increase in paperless operations, and the capability to manage your company remotely. We will also present AMCS’ range of solutions that will enable you to run your business more efficiently and become more agile.

Increasingly, we are recognising the need for all-island co-operation to manage and treat the waste we generate on the island of Ireland. Whether north or south of the border, we are heavily reliant on foreign solutions yet seek to progress towards the vision of a circular economy. This webinar seeks to highlight some of projects and actions currently underway to deal with waste materials on an on-island basis.

To achieve our circular economy ambitions is more cross border cooperation required? Come listen to our speakers and decide!
