Sarah Poulter Named in Women in Trade Association Powerlist 2026

CIWM is pleased to announce that Sarah Poulter, Chief Executive Officer at CIWM, has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s most influential women in trade, earning a place on the prestigious 2026 Women in Trade Association Powerlist for the fourth consecutive year.

The announcement took place in time for International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8th March, highlighting the positive impact of female business and sector champions.

Led by the Trade Association Forum (TAF) in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the list recognises leaders who drive innovation and growth across the nation’s trade associations.

Sarah’s inclusion in the list is reflective of her continued work in enhancing the CIWM Group’s presence globally, advocating for our professional community, and advancing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion across the resources and waste sector.

"We’re so proud to see Sarah’s leadership recognised for the fourth year running, particularly in light of International Women's Day," said Katie Cockburn, Senior Director of Policy, Media & Education at CIWM. "Sarah is a remarkable leader and advocate for women at all stages of their career from across the professional membership community. Her work in developing our Early Careers Team, growing our global footprint and driving inclusion across the sector perfectly captures the spirit of this year’s IWD theme. Sarah is a true champion for opening doors in our industry, and we couldn't be prouder of this well-deserved achievement."

The Powerlist reflects a shared ambition between TAF, the FSB, and the CBI to support inspirational women in trade associations, helping them become powerful advocates for diversity and inclusion while encouraging the next generation of female business leaders and entrepreneurs.

CIWM extends its warmest congratulations to Sarah and all the 2026 honourees.
