CIWM and ITN Productions announce "The Resources Revolution" collaboration

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) presents - ‘The Resources Revolution – zero waste, circular economy, sustainable future’ - a collaboration with ITN Productions Industry News.

LAUNCHING SEPTEMBER 2020

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and ITN Productions Industry News are co-producing ‘The Resources Revolution’. This news-style programme will explore the profound challenges and remarkable innovations taking place in the dynamic landscape of the resources and waste sector as the contribution of circular economic models moves up the net zero agenda.

As competition for the world’s resources intensifies, the economic and social consequences of poor resource management become ever more serious. The safe and professional management of resources throughout their life cycle is therefore an increasingly urgent priority.

‘The Resources Revolution’ will focus on the importance of the role of resource and wastes management professionals and consultants as circular pioneers for businesses and the general public aimed at eliminating waste through its regenerative approach. The programme will also focus on the waste hierarchy, and those leading the way to reduce and manage waste.

Anchored by an ITN Productions Industry News presenter, the programme will showcase the latest advancements in waste management processes and systems, technological innovations and game-changing initiatives that are protecting and enriching life on our planet and mobilising change within the industry.

Finally, the programme will also demonstrate the support CIWM provides to its members through forward-thinking professional development, knowledge sharing and community engagement, and education.

Launching in September, the programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring CIWM members and professional partners.

Sarah Poulter, CEO of CIWM said: “It’s a really exciting opportunity for CIWM to be working with ITN Productions Industry News. It’s more important than ever that the sustainable management of resources and waste is on the agenda of governments and has the attention of the public.

"It’s our hope, as the membership organisation representing over 5,500 resources professionals, that this collaboration will help set and inform the agenda while using the programme to increase public awareness.”

Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, Head of ITN Productions Industry News said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management to produce a programme highlighting the challenges within the sector and the work being done across the UK to inform and inspire the sustainable management of resources and waste. We hope the films will provide a platform to stimulate discussion and advance solutions.”
