WRA becomes first CIWM Network Partner

19 July 2018

The Wood Recyclers’ Association (WRA) has become CIWM’s first ever Network Partner in a new partnership agreement which will bring benefits to both organisations.

CIWM launched the Network Partner scheme after discussions with the WRA about working more closely together.

The Network Partner scheme is designed specifically for trade bodies from the resource and waste management sector, enabling them to demonstrate their commitment to excellence in sustainable resource management and inspire their members to strive for the same level of dedication, showing customers and regulators that they are serious about achieving and upholding the highest levels of professionalism and compliance.

Benefits for WRA members include: a discount on becoming a CIWM Affiliated Organisation; discounts on selected conferences, training courses, seminars and events; discounted advertising in the CIWM Journal

WRA members will also be able to access advice on technical issues, training and education courses through CIWM.

As part of this agreement, CIWM will become a member of the WRA which will mean it can attend the trade body’s quarterly meetings to hear about latest updates on industry issues and to network with other members. It will also receive copies of the quarterly wood recycling magazine and be able to promote CIWM events and training seminars through regular WRA communications.

Julia Turner, Executive Director of the WRA, said the formation of the new scheme, focused specifically on partnerships with trade bodies, would benefit many organisations in the sector.

“As the leading professional body for resource and waste professionals, CIWM is the voice of the sector,” said Julia. “We are excited to be the first trade body to have signed up to this new scheme and we are looking forward to working more closely with CIWM going forward.”

Dr Colin Church, Chief Executive Officer, CIWM, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Wood Recyclers’ Association as CIWM’s first Network Partner, joining us in our mission to influence, inform and inspire the sustainable management of resources and waste.

”Building professional networks and working collaboratively are important for the future of this sector and our respective members will benefit from this partnership,” he added.
