Now in its seventeenth year, The Scottish Resources Conference will return on the 3-4 October this year and cover a wide range of topical issues over the two days.
Ahead of the event, a new website has been launched to make it even easier for delegates to engage with the conference and to discover this year’s exciting programme.
The opening Ministerial Address by Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, will provide an overview of current issues and legislative landscape.
The remaining agenda will cover a number of inter-connected topics that aim to have a positive impact on the environment including: marine litter prevention; deposit return; the biodegradable landfill ban and Zero Waste Towns.
And, looking to the future, market stability – given the Chinese ban on plastic recyclates and the potential repercussions of Brexit.
The two-day event, which also incorporates the Scottish Resources Awards on the Thursday night is run in partnership with CIWM, Zero Waste Scotland and SEPA and sees professionals from private, public and third sector organisations come together to discuss the challenges, issues, innovations and solutions to creating a waste free Scotland.
This year’s conference focuses on the range of people, practices and policies which are fundamentally changing the ways we manage our resources.
