With a line-up of expert speakers, this year's CIWM Northern Ireland Conference promises to deliver a truly engaging programme concentrating on the themes of disruption and the circular economy - with a focus on plastics and the plastics recycling journey.
Organised by the CIWM Northern Ireland Centre Council, the conference will take place at the Titanic Belfast, an iconic building offering outstanding conference facilities in an array of architecturally distinct spaces.
Keynote Speaker: Sir Tim Smit KBE
Tim Smit, co-founder of the marvellous Eden Project in Cornwall, is the perfect antidote to the depressing statistics about climate change catastrophes and the climate crisis. Listen to Tim talk about the Northern Ireland Eden Project planned for the banks of the river Foyle in Derry city. The project which is based around the old stately homes of Boom Hall and Brook Hall. Tim recently admitted to the Irish Times that his aim – in his public speaking engagements – is to provoke and inspire people to “disrupt” the status quo and move out of the “beige” zone he says universities, policy institutes and even environmental non-governmental organisations are locked into.
