CIWM North East Centre - Let's Talk Organics

Changes are afoot in management of organic wastes with proposed mandatory household food waste collections and regulatory reforms.  This event will consider how the organics market will evolve over the coming years, and will also look at how local authorities, waste management service providers, and the wider waste sector should be preparing for change. Event is open to members and non-members.

Program: Draft presentation agenda includes:

Ben Brown (WRM) – Market and regulatory update on the management of food and garden wastes;
Mark Richmond (WRM) – Planning for service changing: preparing a local authority strategy for mandatory food waste collections
Craig Burman (Schofield Sweeney) – Director Liabilities for Waste Company Owners
Speaker TBC (Waste Major) – Processing source segregated food wastes by Anaerobic Digestion;
Speaker TBC (Waste Major) – A solution for organic wastes in the residual stream; and,
Tom North (Bio-renewables Development Centre) – A regional centre for organic waste research and development.
