Introduction to Energy from Waste / Site Tour of Gloucestershire EfW

This session will give you insight into the operation of a conventional Energy from Waste plant in the UK. An extensive site tour of the modern Javelin Park site in Gloucestershire completed in 2019 and handling 190,000 tonnes per annum of mixed residual waste. The site visit is supplemented by speakers discussing the sites history and operation as well as procurement and establishment of EfW plant more generally.
The walking tour takes in the Waste Reception Hall, Waste Bunker, a view of the waste burning on the grate, ammonia and diesel silos, ash conveyer belts, air cooled condensers, ID fan and the bag house filter area.
Programme
Two site tours have been arranged for this event. Group 1 will undertake a tour before the seminar, with group 2 after the seminar session. Due to social distancing measures and site capacity, we will be unable to accommodate you on a tour other than the one on which you are booked.
All visitors should report to site reception on arrival.

Please Note:
All visitors must wear long sleeves, trousers and sensible enclosed footwear; any visitors not wearing the required clothing will not be able to take part in the site tour. All visitors will be provided with the necessary PPE, this will include a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and a high visibility vest. All delegates are warned that the tour involves walking at heigh and ascending/descending stairs.
There is a visitor car park on site. If space is not available there is on street parking near the site entrance. All visitors should report to site reception on arrival, where they will be required to sign into the Visitors book and undertake a temperature check.
