CIWM Cymru Wales Centre Site Visit
At Cardiff County Council New HWRC, Lamby Way
The City of Cardiff will look forward to welcoming CIWM Cymru Members to its Lamby Way site. From this depot, the Cities entire waste and street cleansing operation takes place, in house with a team of circa 300 staff. The Council operates its own MRF, Waste Transfer Station, and Commercial Waste Collection Service and have recently closed the Landfill site. The highlight of the visit will be a tour around the Council’s new £1.2m Household Recycling Centre.

Parking facilities: We encourage car sharing, however, there is ample parking for those who need it. When entering the site, head straight over the roundabout then take the first right.
All participants should meet at the main reception of the site (in the red brick building) at 9.50am.
PPE Required: All visitors should wear safety shoes and a hi-viz jacket.
Agenda:
- Welcome and Introduction with tea and coffee on arrival.
- Presentation of Cardiff Council waste activities and HWRC followed by a tour of the site
- Question session
- The event is expected to finish at maximum 12am
This Free of charge site visit is organised by Cardiff County Council and CIWM Cymru Wales for CIWM members and professionals working in the field of waste and resources management. Attendance is registered and counts towards CIWM CPD hours (2 hours). Places are limited to 15 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Non-CIWM members are welcome to attend but CIWM members will have priority. (Non-members won’t be accepted on more than 2 visits unless they join the Institution).
