CIWM Cymru Wales Site Visit to
At Swansea Council’s Llansamlet Facility (HWRC, Bailing Plant and Re-Use Shop)
Swansea Council is inviting CIWM members to visit their Llansamlet Facility which is home to a Household Waste Recycling Centre, Bailing Plant and their Re-Use Shop (Tip Treasures). This visit will provide an excellent chance to view council waste management operations first-hand, to find out more about the ongoing challenges faced by Local Authorities to achieve recycling/waste collection targets and to understand new waste management initiatives enacted to promote more effective waste management.

Limited on-site parking is available therefore care-sharing is strongly encouraged if possible. In the event that on-site parking is not possible on street parking should be available. Additionally, a Swansea council car park is located c.200m from the site visit location. All visitors should report to the weighbridge (in cars) where they will be directed to on-site parking or advised to park off-site. Once visitors are parked up then they should report to the site office and sign in.

Agenda:
- Welcome and Introduction with tea and coffee on arrival; - Presentation of Swansea Council’s activities and site followed by a tour of the facilities; - Question session; - The event is expected to finish at 16:30.

Closed Shoes (Steel Toe-capped and mid-soled shoes), Hi-Viz and Hard Hats.

All cancellations MUST be sent in writing to celine.anouilh@ciwm.co.uk by 11th June noon for a full refund.
Delegates who do not show up on the day will be charged the full rate at the time of booking.
It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of CIWM Cymru Wales to change the content and timing of the event. In the unlikely event of us having to cancel the event, CIWM Cymru Wales will make a full refund of the tickets but disclaim any further liability.
