This award focuses on excellence in any aspect of innovative practice related to wastes management or resource recovery. The winning entry will highlight the importance of thinking outside the box’ with regard to the management of wastes and resources.
Entrants will have articulated how they have approached an issue through original thinking and demonstrated the successful outcome that their innovative solution has had.
Previous winners and runners up have ranged from a technical innovation that reduced the amount of waste produced, a chemical process that reduced the hazardous nature of a waste stream, a schools education programme that used a new cartoon character to engage younger children to think more about their environment and a five step process that turned waste cardboard from local businesses into caviar.
This award is aimed at companies with over 250 employees, those with less than 250 employees (SME's) should submit their entry into the SME category
