Proven Technologies from Europe?
Perth Concert Hall, Perth, Scotland
Wednesday 22nd March 2006
Perhaps the most significant challenge facing the UK waste management industry is how to divert increasing amounts of waste away from landfill. Anyone who has connections with waste management realise there are challenging targets that the UK must meet to avoid anticipated fines of up to £500,000 per day.
The Government, in response, has focused its attentions on “new technologies”. Using the word “new” implies these technologies are new to the world of waste management and there is a need to create new expertise and equipment. This may well be true, but already in the UK and abroad existing technology is available to take up the challenge.
This CIWM event aims to uncover what technology is already at the UK’s disposal. Experts in their field will provide an overview of the range of technologies available; before existing case studies, from the UK and abroad, elaborate on the deliverability of these facilities and what they can offer in practice.
This event is now fully booked.
