The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) has published a 68-page report on kerbside collections and recycling. ‘Efficient and effective segregated collections will be needed in all strategies for municipal waste if the European and UK targets are to be met’ the report says.

The publication is in response to the increased number of schemes that have been implemented due to government funding. The report, written by experts from CIWM’s Kerbside Collection Working Group, includes detailed advice and guidance on legislation, design, operation, communication, transport, partnerships, education, training and health and safety issues, as well as including case studies.
