Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council have collaborated to provide an innovative, integrated waste management system to achieve our goal of providing a world class service to our customers. Officers operate in a number of teams dealing with the waste contractor, monitoring disused waste disposal sites and providing waste reduction initiatives to the public. We are looking for someone to join the team which monitors the performance of the waste disposal contractor. The new post holder's main duties will be reviewing the data supplied by the contractor in relation to waste disposal to ensure value for money is obtained, inspecting sites to ensure that the contractor is complying with their obligations and liasing with colleagues in the district councils who collect household waste in Worcestershire. Ideally the successful candidate will have an HNC/ HND or equivalent in Waste Management, excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate. They will be numerate and literate, with a good eye for detail and the ability to analyse data accurately. They will be computer literate and be very familiar with the use of spreadsheets.
