• Explain the obligations and requirements of the Duty of Care for Local Authorities in order to ensure facilities and activities comply with the legislation.
• Apply those elements of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 that relate to the control of waste and the duty of care in order to carry out enforcement responsibilities.
• Identify the areas of the waste legislative framework affecting local authorities in order to ensure compliance and apply responsibilities.

Who Should Attend?

This course will be applicable to Local Authority officers who are tasked with enforcement of Waste issues in relation to Duty of Care and the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act. It will also be applicable to those officers who are responsible for ensuring the Local Authority meets its own legal requirements in the management of waste and other facilities.

Course Content:

The course will be delivered through a blend of presentation of information, group discussions, and group exercises. Combined these will provide the necessary knowledge and give opportunity to put it into context and apply knowledge in a relevant situation.
