Presentation by Mike Hales, Senior Environment Officer (Waste), Ridings Area, Environment Agency
Mike will describe how over the last 12 months the Environment Agency has adopted the Modern Regulation approach and explain how the initiative aims to deliver a service that is more risk based and responsive to customer needs.
Mike will be also be cover the establishment of Centralised teams to implement permitting and registration of exemptions, the Use of Regulatory Position Statements (e.g. restoration of quarries) and the Development of Quality Protocols to indicate when waste can be considered "fully recovered".
The Presentation will conclude with a question and answer session
