INITIATIVES TO COMBAT FOOD AND DRINK WASTE

Seminar: 25th May 10am - 3.30pm, Leeds

We are delighted to invite you to a seminar which examines current waste management
practices, explores latest technology advances, and identifies opportunities for industries and
Local Authorities to work collaboratively in achieving cost reductions and revenue gains. Our
seminar offers an impressive range of speakers and includes seven short presentations, and
extended question and answer sessions with our panel of experts.

The Issue

Increasing pressure to reduce waste and the rising energy costs associated with producing products and packaging, is forcing organisations to re-consider their products, production processes, waste collection and re-use practices.

This is a strategic issue for the food and drink industry, and with food and drink wastes accounting for in excess of 20% of household wastes, it is a major issue for LocalAuthorities.

‘Food for Thought’ aims to explore new approaches to food and drink waste management and to identify immediate and future opportunities for Local Authorities and Industry to work in partnership for mutual gain.

The event is Free of Charge to attend thanks to the support of WSP and Recycling Action Yorkshire
