Refuse Collection Vehicle Procurement & Operation Procedures: A Best Practice Guide, produced by the Refuse Vehicle Overload Technical Officer Group. Background information: To reflect an area of serious concern, the FTA (Freight Transport Association) and the PATN (Public Authority Transport Network) formed this Technical Officer Group (TOG) dedicated to establishing the best practice in procurement and loading of refuse collection vehicles. The TOG have worked with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), Container Handling Equipment Manufacturers (CHEM), Environmental Services Association (ESA) and numerous vehicle and on board weighing equipment manufacturers to produce this best practice guide. It is available in electronic format, and will be reviewed on a regular basis to reflect changing developments within the industry.
