WRAP joins as new partner for Resourcing the Future 2017 conference

WRAP, the not-for-profit circular economy and resource efficiency experts, are joining CIWM, the Environmental Services Association and the Resource Association to deliver the Resourcing the Future (RTF) conference this year.

The announcement underscores the importance of the annual London-based conference as the flagship event for the waste and resources industry. This year’s conference, which will take place on 27th and 28th June 2017 in London, will bring together waste and resource management sector professionals, opinion formers, government ministers and policy experts, from the UK and overseas.

“WRAP is delighted to be joining with CIWM to support Resourcing the Future 2017. It is the resource efficiency event of the year and we are looking forward to working with CIWM, ESA and the Resource Association to make 2017 one of the best ever.  With better collaboration and knowledge, the sector will be in a good position to help the UK make the best use of its resources and strengthen its economy,” said WRAP chief executive Marcus Gover.

Speaking on behalf of the three existing event partners, CIWM’s chief executive Dr Colin Church said:
“We welcome the expertise and passion that WRAP brings to the table. There is a lot to play for in our sector as the UK redefines its future self. RTF 2017 will provide a forum for our sector to come together to address today’s major challenges and help shape that future.”

With Ministerial keynotes and four key themes – ‘50% recycling and beyond’, Sharing cost and responsibility across the supply chain’, ‘A UK vision for resource efficiency’ and ‘New delivery paradigms’ – this year’s programme is focused both on exploring solutions to today’s challenges and on shaping the future of UK waste and resource management policy. The highly interactive sessions will provide ample opportunity for debate and structured feedback will be compiled from each day and fed into the policy development processes around the Defra 25-year Environment Plan and BEIS Industrial Strategy.
