For ten years, the Scottish Waste and Resources Conference (SWRC) has been a vital forum for expression and debate, helping to shape Scotland's vision of a zero waste society. The advent of the Zero Waste Plan and the new Zero Waste Scotland delivery programme has upped the ante and sought to bring a broader range of stakeholders together to influence resource management in Scotland. It is also clear that in times of continuing economic uncertainty it is not in anyone's interests to have multiple events competing for the industry's attention. So, the SWRC has this year joined forces with Zero Waste Scotland to create a single, flagship conference and exhibition for Scotland in 2011. The result is a two-day event that we hope will appeal to a wide range of interests. Alongside a revitalised awards dinner and exhibition, we have jointly assembled a conference programme that will inform, inspire and provoke debate. The first day will incorporate the Zero Waste Scotland programme, aimed at a wider business audience, while day two has a focus on the resource management industry and local authorities. The Zero Waste Plan is clear: changing the way we think about and manage resources will require all areas of society to play their part. So, engaging the broadest possible range of commentators and influencers in the opportunities around zero waste must be one of our top priorities.

This year we are happy to announce that Valpak have sponsored a local authority bursary package. We are very keen to get more local authorities to the event and Valpak have been kind enough to sponsor and invite people from local authorities to take up the package.  Valpak200
