Event: Practical Approaches to Reducing Fly Tipping

Date: Friday 21st April 2017

Time: 9:30am - 13:30pm

Venue: Environment Agency, Manley House, Kestrel Way, Exeter, EX2 7LQ

Join the CIWM NMN (Peninsula) for ‘Practical Approaches to Reducing Fly Tipping’.

Fly tipping is the illegal deposit of waste on land in contravention of the Environmental Protection Act Section 33 (1)(a). Whilst those found guilty could be fined up to £50,000 or face a custodial sentence, national data indicates that incidences of fly tipping continue to increase and prosecution rates remain low.

This event will highlight the scale of the fly tipping problem nationally and include local case studies from public and private sector organisations. Through a panel of experts, the event will also provide valuable insights into approaches to reduce or enforce fly tipping within the current legal framework.

This event is open to all and aims to provide delegates with honest, practical and positive insights into multi-agency approaches to dealing with fly tipping.

Fees (including refreshments);
