The Certificate The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), the professional body for waste experts, offers an accredited one day waste awareness course, aimed at providing employees with the knowledge and information sources to help your company minimise waste and stay within the law. Introduced in 2003, the Certificate is supported by Defra, Envirowise, The Environment Agency in England and Wales, SEPA, The EHS (NI) and the devolved UK regions. What is covered? • Learn about different types of waste What is involved? • A one day course presented by CIWM certified trainers Learning Outcomes On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to; • Distinguish between different types and classifications of waste What you get? • A CIWM certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete the written assignment (valid for five year) Who should attend? • Those people whose work practices produce waste or those who need to greater understanding of waste principals (NB. No prior knowledge to the subject is needed as this course is foundation level, similar to NVQ level 1). |
