Dow Corning Corporation is a global leader in silicon-based technology and innovation. The site at Barry in South Wales manufactures silicones and silicone intermediates. Dow Corning's core value of sustainability is driven by legislative requirements, spiralling disposal costs, and a commitment to corporate and social responsibility. The Barry site is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 registered. Many waste products from the site go into recycling processes, including paper and card; wood, metal, plastics, cans and office consumables. The site is always looking for more ways to recycle. The site's secondary waste water treatment plant reduces organic waste and further improves the output quality to the Cadoxton River…
