The Annual General Meeting of the South West Region of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management will be held on Friday 20th April 2012.
Under the normal rotation processes of Centre Councillors, three positions on the Centre Council will be filled at the AGM. Nominations from any Members will be welcome so that we can ensure that the Centre Council represents the wide range of our Industry.
Nominations of any Corporate Members for election to the Centre Council can be made in writing under the following rules:-
(a) Nominees must be Corporate Members of the South West Region;
(b) Any nominations must be proposed and seconded by two Corporate
Members of the South West Region;
(c) The nominations must have the written consent of the nominee;
(d) Nominations must be received by myself at the above address by
the 20th March 2012, i.e. at least one month before the AGM, to be a valid nomination.

In the event of there being more nominations than vacancies, then a postal ballot of Corporate Members will be held prior to the AGM.
Any member considering taking a position on a Centre Council through election, co-option or as Honorary post should be aware that they will be required to sign a declaration for fit and proper persons under the Finance Act 2010.
