CIWM Scotland has recently re-organised the New Generation Group (NGG) by setting up 3 new sub-regional areas North, West and East. We have appointed 3 new coordinators to lead these groups and set up the regional committees. Each of them has set a date for their first committee meetings and would like to invite you along to find out more about NGG and how you can become involved as well as how the NGG can help you.

The New Generation Group looks to support those new to the industry or those just starting their careers, by offering networking opportunities, seminars and events put on locally and aimed specifically at this group of people. The NGG also works to increase the profile and awareness of the Waste and Resources Industry and to encourage more people to consider a career in waste management.

You do not have to be "New Generation" in order to be involved - any CIWM members with ideas on how to encourage and support new people in to the industry are welcome to attend!

Only CIWM members (any grade of membership) will be able to sit on the committees.

The first meeting will focus on what people would like to see from the NGG in their area (what sort of events, ideas for seminars, socials and so on) and to decide on a small number of events to organise as a starting point. There will also be a need to organise the structure of the committee (how many and what other formal roles, identify people willing to be involved in the organisation of events, frequency of meetings and so on).

if you would like to attend the first meeting or if you are unable to attend on this occasion but would like to be involved in the future, please contact the appropriate co-ordinator at the email addresses below.

I would also be grateful if you could forward the details of the committee meeting to any relevant colleagues or contacts who may be interested. Please ask them to get in touch with the appropriate co-ordinator at the email addresses below if they would like to be involved.
