North East Centre Council Elections

ELECTION OF CENTRE COUNCILLORS

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the North East Centre of the Institution will be held on Friday 20 April 2012 in Huddersfield commencing at 10.00am. The AGM will be followed by an Open Meeting, details of which will be circulated at a later date.

There are currently three Centre Councillors who will have completed their term of office at the AGM and who are eligible for re-election. They are:

John Elliott
John Miller
Dave Richardson

Nominations are now invited for the three vacancies on the Centre Council. Nominees must be Corporate members of the Institution, i.e. Fellows, Members or Licentiates, whose registered address is within the North East Centre. Nominations must be in writing, proposed and seconded by two other Corporate members also registered within the Centre. The consent of the nominee must also be obtained in writing, and the Nomination must be accompanied by a written statement of not more than 250 words, giving some biographical details of the Nominee, to enable these details to be circulated in the event of a ballot being required.

Any member considering taking a position on a Centre Council through election, co-option or as Honorary post should be aware that they will be required to sign a declaration for fit and proper persons under the Finance Act 2010.

Nominations must be received by John Skidmore at the address below no later than noon on Friday 9 March 2012, and any nominations received after that time will be invalid.
