Viridor has confirmed that Howard Ellard has been appointed to the Board of Viridor Limited as business development director as of the start of the New Year
Mr Ellazd will lead Viridor's business development team in line with the company's strategic ambitions, especially in the winning of large contracts, the development of waste treatment infrastructure and overseeing future acquisitions.
Howard has been part of Viridor's development and technical department since 1995, where his duties have included the successful completion and integration of a number of new business acquisitions and the delivery of planning consents, environmental permits and contract requirements for recycling and waste treatment facilities. He has over twenty years' experience within the waste and recycling sector.
Commenting on his appointment, Howard Ellard said: "I am delighted to accept this new position and am determined to help Viridor and its customers meet our ambitious joint objectives in the recycling and recovery sector."
Barrie Hurley stepped down from the position as of 31 December 2011. Barrie has been effecting a handover of duties and responsibilities over recent months, a period during which Viridor was confirmed as preferred bidder for the South London Waste Partnership and Glasgow projects, secured planning consent for the Avonmouth Resource Recovery Centre and completed two acquisitions.
