This one starts back in the late 1980s when two hard-working mechanics met at work and became firm friends. Sadly, the company that employed them – Shelvoke Dempster (as Shelvoke & Drewry had become) – wasn’t going anywhere except down the pan. But don’t you find that out of adversity comes humour and a shared bond? In the case of our two heroes, there also came the realisation that if they could fix constantly failing products and get them back into service for an employer, they might be able to fix the same products while working for themselves. It became their shared dream.
